The Income Tax department seized aboit Rs. 9.78 crore cash and 19 kg silver under the hidden floor and wall cavities from the office of a trader in Zaveri Bazar in Mumbai.
IT acted on the information provided by the Maharashtra state GST. The State GST officials said that while they were checking the accounts, they found a sudden spike of gross turnover of M/s Chamunda Bullion from Rs. 22.83 Lac in the year 2019-2020 to Rs. 652 crore in the financial year 2020-2021. Similarly it was found in this financial year that the gross turnover reached Rs. 1764 crores.
